BECKER, Minn. -- Concordia freshman Afton Pender shot an 84 at the Stone Ridge Golf Course in Stillwater, Minn. and is in a seven-way tie for fourth place after the first day of the MIAC Championship Meet.

As a team, Concordia fired their most consistent score the fall and is tied four fourth heading into the final day of competition. The Cobbers shot a total team score of 362 and are only seven strokes out of third place and 17 out of second place. The 362 represents the lowest score at a conference championship meet since the 2003 season when Concordia finished fourth with a two-day total of 711.

The Cobbers' second and third golfers are only seperated by a single stroke. Christie Brink carded a 90 and Erin Douglass is close behind at 91.

Katie Pietsch and Sarah Tabery round out the Concordia top five. Pietsch came home in 97 and Tabery shot a 101.

The Cobbers will finish off the championship meet when they tee off on Sunday beginning at 10:50am.
