Meet Recap

ST. PAUL, Minn. (11/01/08)-- Concordia sophomore Hailey Brenden made sure there would be no sophomore jinx at the 2008 MIAC Championship Meet held at Como Park Golf Course on Saturday. Brenden cruised to a fifth-place finish in a time of 22:34.67 and earned her second straight All-Conference award.

Brenden also helped the Cobbers to a ninth-place finish in the team standings. Concordia finished with a final team total of 233. St. Thomas won the team championship with a mark of 66.

Brenden was the lone Cobber in the top 40 at the meet. Concordia's No.2 runner Brittney Christianson ran a 23:58.72 and finished in 44th place. Anna Hagen clocked a 24:30.47 to finish as the team's No.3 runner. She was followed by Rachel Pederson who finished the course in 24:54.22. She was one of three Concordia athletes who all finished within five places. In a rare occurrence, CC's No.6 and No.7 runners finished with identical times. Both Caroline McLaughlin and Krisitn Slette posted the time of 25:21.12 and finished in 68th and 69th place.

Concordia will have a two-week break before competing at the NCAA Regional Meet held at Grinnell College on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.
