(10/18/08)-- Concordia placed three runners in the top five and 10 in the top 20 at the Crown College Invite on Saturday and ran away with the team title. The win is the first of the year for the Cobbers and first since they captured the St. Olaf Invite championship in 2001. Concordia sophomore Hailey Brenden recorded a milestone win on Saturday. Brenden ran a 22:54.3 on the 6K course to win her first collegiate individual championship. Her time was also a personal best for the distance. Anna Hagen was the third member of the CC top five trio. She was less than 25 seconds behind Christianson, ran a 24:30.2 and finished in fifth place. The other Cobber runners who placed in the top 20 were Rachel Pedersen (7th, 24:38.3), Britney Barnett (11th, 25:05.2), Jamie Levine (14th, 25:19.0), Kristy Singlestad (16th, 25:31.7), Caroline McLaughlin (17th, 25:32.4), Kristin Slette (18th, 25:41.5) and Emily Kanten (19th, 25:43.0).
