Match Stats vs. St. Catherine - Now Online!

MOORHEAD, Minn.-- Concordia sent their lone senior off on a positive note as the Cobbers swept St. Catherine 30-18, 30-22, 30-19 and gave Mackenzie Close a going away present to remember.

Close helped Concordia inch closer to the playoffs and finish off the regular season home schedule. The Cobbers used an attacking percentage of .333, and held the Wildcats to an .081 percentage, in winning their 21st match of the year. Concordia is now 21-2 overall and 8-2 in league play. St. Catherine remains winless in the MIAC, falling to 0-10. The Wildcats are now 3-22 overall.

Becca Shane led all players with 14 kills, as she finished with an attacking percentage of .393. Her 14 kills gives her 1,042 for her career and pushes her ahead of Amy Fitzner and into seventh place on the school's all-time kill list. She needs only five more kills to move past Kris Sather and into sixth place. Laura Reitmeier is the program's all-time kill leader. She had 1,538 kills from 1995-98.

Michelle Honek had another Fitzner-like match as she recorded 11 kills and 12 digs. Shane and Honek were the only Cobbers to record double-digit kill totals. Lindsay Sipma added nine kills and had a match-high .438 attack percentage. Close had five kills and one dig in her final regular season match at home.

Alyssa Dahl, the MIAC Setter of the Week, had a team-high 23 assists, while position-mate Jill Hance chipped in 18 helpers.

Kayla Reed led the Wildcats with 12 kills and Brooke Salonek added 10. Whitney Sparby had a match-high 27 assists in the losing effort.

Concordia will finish the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they play at St. Ben's at 7:00pm.
