MOORHEAD, Minn.-- What was billed as a match between two top teams in the MIAC, turned into a clinical execution of volleyball by Concordia for the first two games of their match with Macalester. The Cobbers outscored the Scots by a combined score of 60-23 in the first two games and waltzed to a 3-1 victory over Macalester, who had fashioned a five-match winning streak entering the match.

Macalester was barely off the bus when the Cobbers built an 11-0 lead in the first game. Fueled by a strong blocking presence at the net and multiple Scot hitting errors, Concordia went on to build a 21-5 lead. Macalester was able to trade points for the rest of the game, but by that time the damage was done and the Cobbers went on to claim a 30-13 victory.

Concordia started slowly in game four and Macalester looked as if they might force a game five. However, a 10-1 Cobber run after the Scots held a 14-11 lead, quickly dashed any hopes of a Macalester comeback.
