Complete AVCA National Rankings - Sept. 13

MOORHEAD, Minn. (09/13/06)-- Concordia's volleyball team has risen to the highest point in program history. The Cobbers climbed four spots in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division III poll and are currently ranked No. 7. 

The No. 7 ranking, which was released on Wednesday, represents the highest the Cobbers have ever been ranked. Before Wednesday, the highest Concordia was ever rated was No. 10 and that occurred on two occasions last year.

Concordia has now spent a total of 24 consecutive weeks in the top 25, the longest streak in program history and longest in  the MIAC.

The Cobbers, who are currently 7-1, gained four spots in the poll by sweeping then No. 9 UW-Oshkosh 30-19, 30-25, 30-25. Their lone loss came to current No. 20 Trinity (Texas) in the final match of the Trinity Tournament.

Concordia will face their toughest week of competition in the season this week as they play at No. 4 tonight and then host No. 16 Carleton on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. The match against the Knights can be viewed live via the internet at:
