MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/09/06)-- Concordia senior middle hitter Becca Shane (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) was named the MIAC Co-Hitter of the Week it was announced by the conference office on Monday. For Shane it is her second Hitter of the Week award this season and fifth overall for her career. Shane helped lead Concordia to five wins this week, including a 3-0 win over Hamline and a 4-0 record in the MIAC/IIAC Border Battle. Shane had 83 kills and only six errors on the week - hitting at a .487 clip. In the final Cobber victory of the week, a 3-0 sweep over Cornell (Iowa), Shane had 15 kills, did not commit an error and hit .789. She also had 34 blocks and 120 points for the week . Shane averaged 1.9 blocks per game and 6.7 points per game. To round things out, she added 3 service aces and 14 digs in the five matches. She currently leads the MIAC in hitting percentage, kills per game, blocks per game and points per game. She also set another milestone this week as she moved into second place on the all-time career kill list at Concordia with 1,389 kills. She needs only 33 more blocks and 150 kills to break the all-time career marks at Concordia.
