Concordia is off to a terrific start because of their tournament championship at the Haverford (Pa.) Invitational. The Cobbers swept all four matches in three games. A pair of Concordia players earned tournament honors in Haverford. Junior All_ American Becca Shane was named to the All_Tournament Team and freshman Jill Hance was honored as the tournament MVP. Hance was one of three Concordia setters who recorded over 40 assists in the four_match tourney. She also led the team in service aces per game (0.63). Besides Hance, Alyssa Dahl and Anna Tinkham also quarterbacked the Concordia offense and did a tremendous job of setting the attack for the Cobber frontline.
The Cobbers have won their last three home openers and are 9_7 in the previous 16 initial matches of the season at Concordia. The last time they lost a home opener was in 2001 when they were swept by MSU Moorhead. Head Coach Tim Mosser is 5_7 in his 12 home openers.
