| Green Earns MIAC Honor! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/07/08)-- Concordia freshman Jenna Green (Dilworth, Minn./Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton HS) was named the MIAC Co-Hitter of the Week it was announced on Monday by the league office. It is the first time that Green has earned the conference weekly award and she joins teammate Anna Tinkham as the only CC players to earn Athlete of the Week honors. Green helped the Cobbers win four straight matches at the Border Battle Tournament over the weekend. Green had a team-high 46 kills in the four matches. She hit .243 and had eight total blocks. For her efforts she was named to the All-Tournament Team - the second time she has been named to an All-Tournament Team this year. Green had at least seven kills in all four matches and had a tournament high 16 kills against Coe on Saturday. The 16 kills tie a career high for Green. Green also posted 41 digs in the tournament - the second most of any Cobber player. Concordia is now 19-1 in the past five Border battle Tournaments - the best mark of any school in the MIAC or IIAC during that time. For the season, Green leads Concordia with 173 and is hitting .180 in her 18 matches played. She is also second on the team in digs (186) and tied for fourth in blocks (23).
