The 2006 campaign was a special season for the Cobbers as Mosser led the team to both the MIAC regular season championship and the conference tournament title. It was the first time in program history that Concordia had claimed the MIAC regular season crown. The playoff championship marked the third time in the past four years that the Cobbers had claimed the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. CC also participated in their fourth straight NCAA playoffs, the longest streak in Concordia athletics history. Concordia was also ranked in the top 25 of the nation for the entire season and finished the year by being ranked in the top 25 for 34 consecutive weeks. For his efforts Mosser was named the AVCA Region Coach of the Year. He also earned Tri-MIAC Coach of the Year honors. In 2005, Mosser led Concordia to their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Cobbers finished the year with a 21-5 record, marking the fifth straight year Mosser has helped the team to a 20-win seson. During the 2004 campaign, Mosser became the first coach in Concordia volleyball history to record 200 collegiate victories. In 1996 season, Mosser guided the Cobbers to a second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and another 2nd place finish in the MIAC. The Cobbers were 25-11 in the 1996 regular season after posting a 27-8 record in 1995. In 1997 the Cobbers finished the MIAC regular season 8-3 and took third in the MIAC. In 2003 Concordia won the MIAC playoff tournament and advanced to the NCAA tournament. The Cobbers won their first match before losing in the regional semifinal. Mosser was voted MIAC Coach of the Year in 1995 by the MIAC Volleyball Coaches. A native of Fortuna, ND, Mosser earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics Education at North Dakota State University in 1986. He completed work on his M.S. degree in Physical Education and Athletic Administration in 1993 at NDSU. Tim served as the assistant coach at Concordia for the 1988-89 season's. During that time, the Cobber conference record was 19-3 including a perfect 11-0 mark in 1988. Concordia is 52-14 in regular-season conference matches with Mosser on the coaching staff. From 1990-92 Mosser was the assistant at Division II power North Dakota State University. In his three year tenure at NDSU, their teams posted a 103-16 record including finishes of second, third, and fifth at the national tournament. In his first year at Concordia, Mosser lead the Cobbers to a 7-4 conference record, good enough for a fourth place finish in the 12 team MIAC. Tim has also coached at the high school and club levels. In addition, he directs summer volleyball camps at Concordia and throughout eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota. Mosser also serves as a faculty member at Concordia, teaching in a the Physical Education and Mathematics departments at Concordia. Coach Mosser has built Concordia Volleyball into a national contender by recruiting quality student athletes who want to work for excellence in the classroom, in athletics, and in the community. Tim has also founded a non-profit corporation called Students Owning & Accepting Responsibility (SOAR). He plays 6 on 1 volleyball and delivers motivational messages to youth, adults and entire communities. |
