Complete Listing of 2005 MIAC Volleyball Awards

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Concordia junior Becca Shane (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team on Wednesday. She was the only Cobber player to earn a conference postseason award this year.

It is the second consecutive year that Shane has earned the award and third straight that she has captured MIAC postseason honors. In 2003, as a freshman, she was named the MIAC Rookie of the Year. Shane also earned All-Region and All-American honors last season.

Shane led the conference in blocks this season. She averaged 1.42 blocks per game in the team's 11 league matches. She was also fourth in the MIAC in kills (4.00/game) and sixth in hitting percentage (.275).

Shane finished the season with 140 blocks, which is the seventh highest single-season block total in program history. She also finished with 102 block assists, becoming only the fourth player in program history to record over 100 block assists in a season.

During the season, Shane reached the 1,000-kill milestone. She became only the ninth player in Cobber volleyball history to pass that mark. She finished the season with 337 kills and now has 1,073 for her career. She is currently sixth on the all-time list of kill leaders at the school.
