Complete List of AVCA All-American Awards MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/19/08)-- Concordia senior Abby Scheel (Fergus Falls, Minn./Hillcrest Academy) was named to the named to the AVCA All-American Team it was announced on Wednesday. Scheel becomes the eighth Cobber player in the past five seasons to earn All-American honors. Last year Michelle Honek was also named to the All-American Honorable Mention Team. The award follows on the heels of Scheel earning AVCA All-Region and All-MIAC honors. Scheel was one of the reasons Concordia advanced to the NCAA Regional Championship. It marked the first time in program history that CC has advanced past the second round of the national tournament. On the year, Scheel was a leader on the team that went 22-6 and was ranked in the top 25 of the nation for the entire season. Scheel led the team in blocks and was third in kills in both overall and conference matches. She had 161 kills in the team's 28 matches and had 82 total blocks on the year. She finished her career with 457 kills and 332 blocks. Her block total places her sixth on the school's all-time career list.
