MATCH RECAP:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/22/10)--No.23-ranked Concordia used late-set runs to down St. Kate's 3-1 (27-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18) in Moorhead on Wednesday. The Cobbers had runs of 10-2, 9-1 and 9-2 at the back end of each winning set to come up with their ninth win of the year. CC is now 9-3 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC.

Cobber junior Katie Vohnoutka continued her torrid play. She continually hammered down winners from the net and finished with a match-high 22 kills. She also had 16 digs and accounted for 24.0 points. The 22 kills is a career high for Vohnoutka and it is the second straight match she has had over 20 kills in a match. It is also the sixth consecutive match she has recorded a double-digit kill total. She now has a 151 kills for the year.

Concordia improved their hitting percentage throughout the entire match and finished with a .198 mark for the four sets. They ended the match with an attack percentage of .273 in the final game. St. Kate's peaked in the second set with a mark of .156 and then finished by going .022 in the third set and .000 in the final set.

Cobber freshman Allison Bruggeman had 11 kills for the match and has had double-digit kills totals in three of the last four matches. She also had 16 kills. All-American Jenna Green drew the attention of the Wildcat defense for the entire match and came away with nine kills but had a team-high 21 digs. Amy Sykora put up a match-high 28 assists in leading the Concordia offense.

St. Kate's was led by Megan Albrecht who had 11 kills. Nicole Neumann recorded a match-high 30 digs and Callie Teigen chipped in 22 assists.

Concordia will hit the road for three matches over the weekend. They will play Northland and UM-Morris at Morris on Friday and then head to the Cities to play Macalester on Saturday at 3 p.m.
