MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/21/08)--No.12-ranked Concordia needed only 60 minutes to dispatch of UM-Morris 25-12, 25-20, 25-9 in Moorhead on Tuesday. The Cobbers posted a season-high .340 attack percentage and came away with 13 service aces to earn their 10th straight victory. CC has now recorded 10-match winning streaks in three of the past four seasons. Concordia is now 18-2 on the season.

The Cobbers had 12 players record at least one kill. Freshman Jenna Green led all players with nine kills. She hit .412 for the match and also had a match-high 14 digs. Fellow freshman Katie Vohnoutka finished with a match-high six service aces. She had seven kills - the second highest total on the team. Amy Sykora had a team-high 13 assists, playing in the first and third sets. Senior Jill Hance posted 12 helpers playing in the second set. Abby Scheel had a match-high .667 hitting percentage and ended with five kills. Erin Sykora was the only other CC player with more than five kills in the match. She had six kills, one assist and two digs.

Like the Cobbers, UM-Morris (8-13) did not have a single player with double-digit kill totals. Alison Pippo had a team-high seven kills and was the only Cougar player with more than four winners. Natalie Thomas recorded 10 digs and Sam Pfannenstein had a match-high 18 assists in the losing effort.

Concordia will now turn their attention to the remainder of the conference schedule. CC will head out on their lone road doubleheader this weekend. The Cobbers will play Gustavus in St. Peter on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and then head to Northfield on Saturday to square off against Carleton at 3 p.m. The two matches will go a long way in determining where Concordia will be seeded for the upcoming MIAC playoffs.
