MATCH REWIND:

Match Stats: Final Stats vs. UW-Oshkosh

The Leader: Becca Shane led by example in Concordia's national rankings showdown with No. 9 UW-Oshkosh. The senior middle hitter had 14 kills and a season-high eight blocks. Overall, the Cobbers had 37 kills and 19 combined blocks against the previously undefeated Titans.

MATCH RECAP:

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (09/09/06)-- Coming into their match with No. 9 UW-Oshkosh, No. 11 Concordia was a perfect 6-0 in matches and owned a hefty 18-2 record in games played in 2006. That trend appeared to be challenged as the Cobbers and Titans squared off in a match against nationally-ranked teams that were unbeaten.

Much to the chagrin of UW-Oshkosh, that trend continued as Concordia pulled off an impressive 3-0 (30-19, 30-25, 30-25) sweep over the Titans. The Cobbers used 19 combined blocks to keep the Oshkosh attack at bay and released the front-line of Becca Shane, Daneille Dahl and Michelle Honek to wreak havoc and combine for 28 kills.

Shane led the Cobber attack with 14 kills. She also added a season-high eight total blocks in the victory. Shane passes the 100-kill mark for the season. She now has 110 kills in the team's first seven matches.

Both Dahl and Honek recorded seven kill each. Dahl also added three blocks, while Honek had six digs to go along with two blocks.

Senior defensive specialist Anna Walden continued her outstanding play in the tournament. She had a team-high 14 digs and one service ace.

Concordia will finish off the Trinity Tournament when they face host Trinity at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
