MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/09/06)-- Concordia head coach Tim Mosser and seniors Becca Shane and Danielle Dahl earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region honors on Wednesday. Mosser was named the Region Coach of the Year while Shane and Dahl were named to the All-Region First Team. It is the first time that Mosser has earned Region Coach of the Year honors and he is now eligible to be named the National Coach of the Year. Shane earns All-Region honors for the second time in her career while Dahl receives region honors for the first time. Mosser helped lead Concordia to a 24-1 record heading into the NCAA Tournament. He also guided the Cobbers to the MIAC regular season and playoff titles. It was the first time in school history that Concordia won the MIAC regular season championship. The Cobbers were also ranked third in the final regular season AVCA Division III National poll. That is the highest national ranking in school history. Mosser has also helped Concordia stay in the top 25 in the national rankings for the past 33 consecutive weeks. That is a program record and is also the MIAC record for a school to spend consecutive weeks ranked in the top 25 in the nation. Mosser has fashioned a 69-10 record in the past three years and the team has posted five straight 20-win seasons. Shane earns All-Region honors after being named the MIAC MVP last week. She was named to the All-Region Team in her sophomore season and went on to be named to the Division III All-American Team. Shane is ranked 19th in the nation in hitting percentage, 24th in blocks per game (1.43) and 28th in kills per game (4.4). Shane led the MIAC in conference matches in blocks per game (1.37) and was third in kills per game (4.61) and fourth in hitting percentage (.342). Dahl had a difference-making season for the Cobbers. After transferring to Concordia from North Dakota State University this year, she finished second on the team in total kills. Dahl had at least 10 kills in seven of the Cobbers' MIAC matches. She was third on the team in attack percentage (.285) and total blocks (33). Dahl is coming off a record-setting performance against St. Ben's in the MIAC playoff title match. Against the Blazers, she had 31 kills to break to school's single-match kill record. Concordia will play Beloit College in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. The Cobbers are making their fourth straight NCAA appearance and sixth overall trip to the national playoffs. 2006 AVCA Central All-Region Team Danielle Dahl Concordia College MB Sr.
