Foss Earns MIAC Weekly Honor!

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/14/08)-- Concordia senior forward Justin Foss (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South HS) was named the MIAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week it was announced on Tuesday by the league office.

It is the first time in his career that Foss has earned the conference weekly award and he becomes the first Cobber men's player to receive the honor this season.

Foss scored three goals last week and helped the Cobbers to a 1-1 record in conference play. Foss had a goal in CC's 3-2 overtime loss at Macalester on Tuesday and came back to score two goals, including the game winner, against Hamline on Saturday in Concordia's 3-0 win over the Pipers.

Foss started the week by netting Concordia's first goal of the game against the Scots on Tuesday. His goal in the first half tied the game at 1-1. Foss then scored two goals against Hamline as the Cobbers handed the Pipers their worst conference defeat of the season. Foss scored the game-winning goal at 38:10 to help CC to a 1-0 lead. He then added an insurance goal late in the game to help Concordia win their fifth game of the season - the most since the 2001 season.

Foss now leads the conference in goals in MIAC games. He has seven goals in the team's eight league games. He has now scored at least one goal in the past five games. Foss also leads the MIAC in goals per game (0.88) and is tied for the league lead in points (16).
