Weiler took over the helm of the Concordia men's soccer program in 2007. He had already established himself as a successful coach on the women's side, leading the Cobbers to the MIAC regular season and playoff championships in 2006. Before taking over as head coach of the women's team, he had been an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs at Concordia from 1999-2001. In his second season as head women's coach in 2003, Weiler guided the team to a berth in the MIAC tournament. Following the team's breakthrough season, he was named the MIAC Coach of the Year. Weiler, a Fargo native, was the head girls' soccer coach at Fargo South High School from 1999-2004. In 1999 he guided the Bruins to the North Dakota State Championship and was also named the North Dakota Coach of the Year. In 2002, he was named a finalist for the national girl's high school coach of the year. Weiler holds a Brazilian (BRUSA) "B" coaching license and a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" license. Weiler earned his bachelor's degree from Moorhead State University in 1996. He currently lives in Moorhead. |
