(9/05/10)-- Alex Dahl, Jon Hedin and Riley McGlynn scored two goals each in Concordia's 9-0 thrashing of Northland (Wis.) on Sunday at the Advantage Emblem Cup hosted by St. Scholastica. The win gave the Cobbers the tournament championship and extended their overall unbeaten streak to 12 games. CC is now 2-0 on the year. The nine goals scored by Concordia are the most in a single game in program history. Dahl used his two goals along with an assist to earn the tournament MVP honors. He was one of five Concordia players to earn tournament honors. Hedin and McGlynn were named to the All-Tournament Team as were seniors Philip Bruckbauer and Marco Riboli. Bruckbauer had the game winner in the 90th minute in Friday's 2-1 win over St. Scholastica. The Cobbers wasted little time pummeling the Lumberjack net. For the game the Cobbers would shell the Northland net for 26 shots and put 17 on the frame. Northland mustered only one shot in the 90 minutes and did not have a shot on goal. Dahl led off the scoring parade for CC when he notched his first goal of the season at 17:58 on assists from Riboli and Patrick Rundlett. Concordia would score the next two goals on penalty kicks and tally three goals in the game from PK's - the most in a single game in program history. Kyle Quimby converted the first spot kick and then Dahl tucked home his second of the game at 28:32. McGlynn and Ethan Vogel would score before the end of the first half to give the Cobbers a 5-0 lead at the break. McGlynn scored at 59:05 and then Hedin would collect his second collegiate goal at 63:00. Artem Shchepetkin and Hedin would finish off the scoring for the game. Hedin's second goal came from the third PK of the game. Junior goalie Andy Iverson did not have to make a save in order to record his first collegiate shutout. Concordia will open up MIAC play when they face defending conference regular season champion Carleton on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Northfield.
