Cobber senior PJ Mack attacks the UW-Superior defense on the wing in Concordia's 3-2 come-from-behind win on Friday. Mack scored the game-winner 2:33 into the first sudden death period.

Gameday Game Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/05/08)-- Concordia overcame a 2-0 second-half deficit to beat UW-Superior 3-2 in overtime in the home opener for the Cobbers.

The Yellowjackets took a 1-0 lead at the 13:35 mark on a goal by Gubio Henrique and the made it 2-0 on a tally from Joey Driscoll just under six minutes into the second half. The Cobbers started the rally 12 minutes later when Marco Riboli slotted home his first goal of the season at 63:33. CC finally got the equalizer with less than five minutes left to go in regulation. Sophomore Kyle Kazemi picked an opportune time to head in his first collegiate goal as he tied the score at the 85:11 mark.

Concordia wasted little time in the first sudden death period. Senior midfielder PJ Mack found himself in the right place at the right time when the ball got crossed into the box. Mack slammed home the winner at 92:33 and the Cobbers came away with their second straight win. For Mack it was his second consecutive game-winning goal and pushes him onto the team lead in points and goals scored. Both Kyle Quimby and Alex Dahl were credited with assists on the game-winner and both players came away with two assists for the game.

CC goalie Mads Schmidt made one save in the game as did UW-Superior goalie Tony Sorenson. Concordia outshot the Yellowjackets 14-7 in the game despite being outshot 3-1 in the first half.

The Cobbers will finish off the Cobber Invite when they host Jamestown College on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m.
