Chad Morlock and Matt Klein earned MIAC postseason honors it was announced by the league office on Friday.

 

Two Cobbers Earn MIAC Honors!

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/12/07)--Two Concordia seniors earned MIAC postseason honors it was announced by the league office on Friday. Defender Chad Morlock (Moorhead, Minn.) was named to the MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team and midfielder midfielder Matt Klein (Fergus Falls, Minn.) was placed on the MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

It is the first time for both players to earn postseason accolades.

Morlock finished tied for third on the team in scoring in 2007. He scored his first collegiate goal in the team's opening game of the season and went on to add two more during the year. He finished the season with six points. Morlock was also the leader of the defense that improved on their goals against in league play by 11 goals. In 2006 the Cobbers conceded 29 goals in MIAC games and only allowed 18 goals in 2007.

Klein was named to the MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. It is an award that is selected by the coaches and teammates and given to individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.

Klein helped the Cobbers snap their three-year MIAC winless streak by scoring the game-winning goal against St. Mary's on Sept. 29. For his effort he was named the MIAC Player of the Week.
