MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/08/09)-- A pair of

Concordia golfers was named the MIAC Men's

Co-Golfers of the Week it was announced by the

league office on Tuesday. Junior Zach Kappes

and sophomore Pat Deitz were both honored

for their medalist tying round of 68 at the

Jamestown Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The pair helped the Cobbers shoot a school-record

team score of 282 en route to winning the

one-round title.

The round of 68 shot by Kappes and Deitz is the

best round for a Cobber golfer since four-time

All-MIAC athlete Drew Dvorak fired a 68 in the

second round of the MIAC Championship Meet in

2007. It is a career best for Kappes who was last

year's top golfer for the Cobbers. Deitz made a

big splash in his first collegiate round.

The two will return to action when the Cobbers

host the annual Concordia Open on Sept. 11-12

at the Village Green and Meadows golf courses in Moorhead.
