JAMESTOWN, N.D.  (10/02/09)-- In a strange scenario at the Jamestown Invitational on Friday, Concordia ran faster than all but one team but wound up in fourth place.

The Cobbers put 11 men under 30:00, all of them ahead of the No.5 runners from Dickinson State and Minot State, but because of the top runners from Dickinson and Minot, the team score was turned in their favor. The Cobbers ended up losing to Dickinson State by eight points and to Minot State by five points.

Brad McConn (Fr, Fargo South HS, ND) led the way for the Cobbers. Once again McConn ran a personal best as he has now posted PR's in all four meets this season. McConn ran a 27:25 at the Jamestown meet and finished in sixth place.

Cobber head coach Garrick Larson was excited about the future of the team as three freshmen filled the No.4, No.5 and No. spots in the meet. The trio of Adam Mousel (Fr, Northfield, Zach Davis (Fr, Dickinson, ND), MN), and Ben Jacobson (Fr, Pierre/TF Riggs HS, SD) packed up to run 28:58, 29:07, 29:13 respectively.

The Cobbers compete next at the Cobber Invitational, Friday, October 16 as part of Homecoming Weekend.
