Complete NDSU XCountry Open Results


FARGO, N.D.(08/31/06)-- The opening meet of the 2006 season started in similar fashion for the Concordia men's cross country team as the Cobbers competed at the NDSU Cross Country Open at Rose Creek Golf Course in Fargo, N.D. on Friday.

Matt Putratz picked up where he left off by finishing as the top Cobber runner. Despite Putratz's 18th place finish, Concordia still finished fourth in the four team meet. The Cobbers ended with a team score of 100 points which was 39 points behind third-place MSU Moorhead. NDSU won the meet with a final score 19 points.

Putratz ended the 2005 season by finishing as the top Concordia runner in five straight meets. He opened the '06 campaign by running a 27:27.63 and placing 18th. He was the only Cobber athlete to post a time under 28 minutes. Sophomore Brandon Huether was next on the list for Concordia. He finished 27th in a time of 28:05.82.

Concordia will return to action on Sept. 16 when they compete at the Montana State Invitational in Bozeman, Mont.
