MIAC Player of The Week Release

D3football.com Team of the Week

Football Gazette Team of the Week (pdf)

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/05/06)--First it was the MIAC Player of the Week on Monday, then it was the D3football.com Team of the Week on Wednesday and on Thursday Cobber senior fullback Kevin Williamson (Britton, S.D./Britton Hecla HS) completed the trifecta of possible weekly awards by being named to the Football Gazette Team of the Week.

Williamson earned all the accolades for his record-tying performance against Augsburg on Saturday as he helped Concordia capture thier first win of the season.

Williamson tied a school record for the most touchdowns in a single game as he ran for five TD's, including the game-winner in overtime, in the Cobbers' 34-28 victory over Augsburg on Saturday. The five rushing touchdowns ties former Cobber great Bob Beliveau ('79) for most touchdowns scored in a single game. Beliveau accomplished his feat on Nov. 18, 1978 against Northwestern.

The five scores were the only touchdowns in the game for Concordia as they won for the first time this season. Williamson finished the game with 178 rushing yards on 31 carries. The 31 carries ties for the seventh most rushes in a single game in program history. Williamson now has six touchdowns on the year and needs only three more to break the school record for TD's in a career.

Williamson currently leads the MIAC in scoring in conference games. He has scored 36 points in the team's first three league games.
