MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/27/08) -- Concordia junior kicker Carl Hauser (Fergus Falls, Minn.) was named the MIAC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday. It is the first time that Hauser has earned the weekly Player of the Week honor. He joins Andrew Larson and Tom Flynn as the other Cobber players to receive Player of the Week honors this season.

Hauser kicked the game-winning field goal with :12 to play against Hamline to give the Cobbers an 18-17 victory and push Concordia into first place in the MIAC.

The Cobbers now sit alone in first place in the conference with a 4-1 record in the MIAC and 5-2 overall. Hauser connected on a 27-yard attempt into a stiff wind for the game winner. Hauser also had four kickoffs in the game and had one touchback. His average kick went 48.2 yards.

Hauser currently leads the MIAC in field goals in conference games and overall games. He is 4-for-5 in field goal attempts in conference play this season and 7-for-8 in all games. He is also third in the league in scoring by kickers.
