MOORHEAD, Minn.-- Concordia finished the regular season for the second straight season by being ranked in the top ten in at least one major NCAA Division III national poll.

The Cobbers climbed up one spot in the D3football.com poll and are now ranked 9th. Last year they finished the regular season by being ranked 4th in the D3football.com and Football Gazette polls.

Concordia is among five teams from the NCAA West Region that are all ranked in the top ten in the country (Linfield #1, UW-Whitewater #2, St. John's #3 and Occidental #6).

In the second major poll that came out on Sunday, the Cobbers moved up three spots in the Football Gazette rankings. Concordia is now ranked 11th in the final regular season poll.

The Cobbers alos moved into the top ten in a second major poll. Concordia is ranked 10th in the final regualr season poll as conducted by the AFCA.

Concordia's first round opponent in the NCAA playoffs, Coe College, is ranked 21st in the D3football.com poll and 31st in the Football Gazette poll. Their highest ranking comes in the AFCA poll where they are 20th.

Concordia has now been ranked in the top 25 in all three major Division III polls for 11 straight weeks in 2005. It is also the 19th consecutive week that the Cobbers have been ranked in the top 25 - a streak that dates back to Oct. 5, 2004.

Last year Concordia climbed as high as fourth in both the D3football.com and Football Gazette polls and sixth in the AFCA poll.
