MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/10/07)--Concordia senior offensive tackle Grant Weller (Sauk Centre, Minn.) was named to the D3football.com All-West Region First Team it was announced on Friday. Weller is now on the national ballot for consideration to be named to the D3football.com All-American Team.

The All-West Region honor is another in an ever-growing list of postseason awards for Weller. On Saturday Weller helped the USA all-star team defeat Mexico in the annual Aztec Bowl. Earlier, Weller was named the top lineman in the MIAC (Mike Stam Award) and was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Team.

Weller helped Concordia to a 7-3 overall record in 2007. It was the fifth time in the past six seasons Concordia has posted at least seven wins on the year. He also helped the Cobber offense that set a school record for points and touchdowns in a season.

Weller was a three-year starter on the offensive line. He was the leader of a group that helped Concordia set the school record for most points in a season (416) and touchdowns (58). The Cobber offense is currently ranked seventh in the nation in scoring, 10th in the country in rushing offense and 13th in overall offense. CC scored 50-plus points in a school record four games in 2007 and posted at least 40 points in six games. Weller was named the team Offensive Lineman of the Week twice in 2007.
