Class Registration Help

This registration class lookup uses a multi-level search engine that enables several types of queries to be performed.

Hitting the SUBMIT button will query the database with the options you have selected.

Hitting the RESET button will clear currently set options.

Each general query provides a standalone search or a combination of searches with other options. It is recommended that you use more than one option to query. This can greatly reduce the number of classes that will be brought back to you. (Example: Check the departments that interest you and the time of day that you have a fee slot in you schedule.)

If you do not provide any infomation for the query the search engine will return no matches.

SECTIONS (Open | All):
This radio button option allows the search to be performed on two levels.
If the radio button is set to Open Sections all courses that are below capacity or have a listed capacity of "0" (these would include Arranged courses and Cooperative Education courses) will be returned.
All Sections will return all classes in the query despite current enrollment.

This option can not be a stand alone query. If you submit with only this option selected you will be retuned to the form. The default option is All Sections.

DEPARTMENTS:
Using this query enables you to check as many departments as you would like to view information on. By checking all of the department boxes you can view all courses at Concordia (though it is not recommended), but more probably you will be able to see all classes in the departments that are of interest.

This query is done first when multiple options are selected.

CORE AREAS:
This option can be used to find courses with core (distribution, multicultural, integration, religion, math proficiency and world language) designations.

COURSE NUMBER:
This option enables you to lookup specific course number (Example: Find Religion 100 by typing in 100) using only the number of the course.

COURSE TITLE:
This query enables you to type in a course title or a sub-string of the course title. The search that is performed is case insensitive. Once again all searches above this one on the page are done first.

INSTRUCTOR:
This query works exactly like the Course Title query.

BLOCK:
This query restricts the search to single block courses. Checking both boxes searches all block courses for both blocks.

TIMES:
This query works like the Department check boxes. It will find all of the classes listed for the time periods you select. This can be useful if you are looking for one class to fill an empty slot in your schedule.
