Concordia faculty often have oppurtunities for students to participate in their research projects during the summer. In addition there are a number of programs around the country designed to involve undergraduates in physics and astronomy research during the summer months. Many of the program sites can be reached via the WWW. Deadlines for applications can be as soon as January so it pays to apply early.

The National Science Foundation provides grants to universities and research facilities to provide research opportunities to undergraduate students through the REU program. A wide variety of programs are offered via REU grants. The REU program is targeted primarily at students between their junior and senior years but accept students both earlier and later in their undergraduate studies. The

The NSF maintains a more current REU page that allows you to search for REU sites by topic. Many of the participating institutions send out mailings.
