- 1998 US Commission on Civil Rights, "The Status of Equal Opportunity for Minorities in Moorhead, Minnesota." Coordinated attitudinal survey of White Hispanic and American Indian households in Moorhead.
- Aid Association for Lutherans. Grant to develop Church Professions Program ($11,960). Coordinated two "Applied Spiritualy" workshop consultations, May and October 1998. Bush Foundation Grant for departmental self-study ($4,500).
