Presenter: Beth Lewis, President and CEO for Augsburg Fortress Publishing 
 

Description:  Beth shares her personal story of hearing God's call at a time when she wasn't thinking about making a career change.  Lewis had been raised hearing terms like vocation and priesthood of all believers but it took a surprising turn of events for her to internalize what that could mean for her.  Lewis will also broaden the story to talk about how each person has an opportunity to lead by example and provide ministry in daily life including business, school, home and community.

Description:  Perhaps one of the most intriguing ways to deal with communication in organizations is a recent model called Crucial Conversation Tools.  How do we develop dialogue tools that bring our conversations and decisions to a higher middle ground?  How do we create a feeling of mutual understanding, safe conversation, trust, an ethical climate, and an openness that leads to better decisions for individuals and organizations?  Linda Schwartzwalter will facilitate a discussion on this new perspective and discuss how MeritCare Health System (and many others) are developing these skills for a more successful and honest way of communicating.
