Our Turtle River Lake sites offer a wonderland of forest trails and comfortable facilities. Perfect for a mother and daughter to ski together at a Family Fun Weekend (above). There are programs for all ages and language abilities, combining scheduled activities with time to visit with others who share your interest in language and culture.

Concordia Language Villages receives international recognition for its innovative language and culture immersion programs for young people. Did you know that the Language Villages also offers exciting programming during the academic year for adults, seniors, and even families? Accommodations are comfortable and cozy; delicious, culturally authentic meals are served family style—the perfect setting for learning and fun!

Family Fun Weekends provide the entire family—parents, children and grandparents—
a language and cultural immersion experience together. Helpful instructors create a supportive environment where language learners of all ages can build confidence in their use of a world language. Exciting activities like music, dance, arts and crafts, and sports involve the entire family in the learning process. Weekends serve as great preparation for a family trip abroad or for a child’s eventual summer experience at the Villages. They are also a great way to explore family heritage or to learn about an entirely new culture. Bring bedding, towels, skis, snowshoes and/or bicycles.

Finnish Family Week is designed to introduce villagers ages 4-10 and their parents and/or grandparents to Salolampi. Older brothers and sisters are also welcome. Families participate in all Salolampi summer activities, learning Finnish language and culture through language groups, stories, games, crafts, meals and hikes. Some activities are offered just for children, some just for adults, and some for everyone. Families live together, often sharing a cabin with other families. Participants provide their own towels and bedding.

All linens, towels, blankets, pillows with cases, bath soap and tissues are provided unless noted in the program. Concordia Language Villages is an alcohol and drug free environment. Smoking and pets is/are not allowed. We appreciate your cooperation.
