Why Study Biology at Concordia?
We offer a comprehensive curriculum, giving you a lecture and laboratory background in general biological principles, a variety of field and lab-based courses to meet and expand your interests and flexibility allowing you in-depth exploration in areas of your choosing.
Paticipate in unique research opportunities ranging from field studies of invasive species to understanding the genetics of pathogenic nematodes. Each summer, five to six faculty head up research teams in their area of specialization. The students on these teams get hands on experience designing and carrying out experiments, gathering and interpreting results and presenting material to their peers. Many students present at regional or national meetings and prepare manuscripts for publication. In addition, each summer we have students doing research at other institutions.
The Cooperative Education office (located in the Career Center) can help you find an intership with a local business where you can examine your aptitude and suitability for specific professions while getting academic credit.
