Hi! My name is Kallie Fleharty straight out of Missoula, MT. I am majoring in biology with a minor in nutrition with aspirations of becoming an embryologist or working somewhere in the medical field. My interests include scrapbooking, going to the lake, reading, and volunteering at MeritCare Hospital.
This year will be my second year on the Homecoming Committee. Last year I was the co-chair of Frosh Frolics. I am looking forward to having more responsibility as the chair and am thankful for this awesome opportunity. The 2005 Homecoming Committee is made up of 36 of Concordia’s finest students. We have all been working very hard to ensure that Homecoming 2005 will be a memorable and exciting event. This year’s theme is “Sweeter With Time.” I would like to encourage Cobbers from the past, present and future to come home and share in all of the Homecoming festivities.
My parents are Jim and Carol Fleharty of Missoula, MT. My father is self-employed, and my mother was a family and consumer science teacher at Meadow Hill Middle School, and is enjoying retirement. I have two older sisters, Kristin Fleharty-Savidge ’92 and Kara Fleharty-Schultz ’96. Kristin and her husband, Mike Savidge ’92, currently live in Marysville, WA. They have two children: Emmaline, who is five years old and Nicklaus, who is one year old. Kristin is a kindergarten teacher at Sunnyside Elementary and Mike works for Microsoft. Kara and her husband, Jeff Schultz, live in Orlando, FL. Kara is the Director of Annual Giving at Stetson University and Jeff is currently completing nursing school.
Since I was in kindergarten, I always knew I wanted to go to school at Concordia. That ambition stayed with me growing up, as Concordia was the only college that I applied to. I also knew that I wanted to follow in my sisters’ footsteps and become involved in Homecoming. My eldest sister, Kristin, was on the Homecoming Committee for three years and my sister, Kara, was on the Homecoming Committee for two years, her last year being the Homecoming chair. Concordia’s Homecoming always held a special place in my heart as a time for my family and other Cobber families to come home and celebrate the blessings of being a Cobber. As my last Homecoming as a student rapidly approaches, I know I will cherish all that Concordia has done to prepare me for my future. As I begin thinking about leaving Concordia as a thoughtful, informed and dedicated to the Christian life alum, I know returning to this great place to be reunited with my Cobber family will always be a highlight as I hope it will be for you.
On behalf of the 2005 Homecoming Committee I hope that you all will make the journey back to Concordia to share in this most memorable event.
Soli Deo Gloria,

Kallie
