Best of Both Worlds: Three Athletes Earn Prestigious NCAA Post-Grad Scholarships

Concordia College-Moorhead recently garnered more NCAA honors than any other college across all divisions.

Concordia students Nick Myran (cross-country), Jordan Talge (football) and Jessica Walden (volleyball) earned NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships worth $7,500. The association recognized their excellence both in and out of the sports arena.

Myran, a math and economics major, earned All-Region honors in cross-country in 2003 and 2004 and is a two-time all-conference performer. He is pursuing graduate school for economics and math.

Talge, who's studying economics and political science, is one of the most decorated football players in Concordia history. He was named to the D3football.com All-American Team and the Football Gazette All-American First Team. Talge is already working with Minnesota State Senator Norm Coleman's office, pursuing a career in politics.

Walden, a biology major, was named the MIAC Most Valuable Player in 2004 and named to the MIAC All-Conference Team for three consecutive years. She will be studying optometry at a top university next fall.

The NCAA awarded a total of 56 fall sport athletes, including students from Duke University, Stanford University and Boston College.
