June 2005

Greetings Class of ’90!

Here we are again – only this time we are looking at a 15 year class reunion! I encourage all of you to make arrangements to come back to Concordia this fall. “Sweeter with Time” is the theme for Homecoming, September 30 – October 2, 2005. You can go on our class web site (www.ConcordiaCollege.edu/1990) if you are looking for hotel options, and to register, and then join us for our class reunion breakfast on Sunday, October 1st at 9:00 a.m. If you would like to help out with the weekend activities, please let me know – we are still looking for individuals to help out with planning, hosting and coordinating! Along with that, I would also encourage you to send in your class notes. Attached you will find the latest information on fellow classmates. Be sure to send us your job promotions, marriages, births and anything else that you would want to share with us. And don’t forget to check out the web site
www.ConcordiaCollege.edu/1990
.

Concordia, of course, is buzzing with activities:  the inauguration of a new president, strategic planning and preparing for the possible ground breaking of the new student center.  It is always exciting to be on campus and feel the vibrant energy that seems to radiate from the faculty, staff and students. It’s worth the trip just to see how the campus has changed and is growing – a true testament to the supporting network out there that believes Concordia needs to continue to grow to meet the needs of students everywhere.

I want to thank all of you who made contributions to Concordia this past year. Once again, we have made our mark for the decade of the ‘90’s by having a participation rate of 33.4%. I recently sat at the Founder’s Day celebration and was overwhelmed by the honorees and the contributions they have dedicated to Concordia. And while I’m not sure if I’ll ever financially be able to match some of the gifts they have given, I am proud to be part of a family that is so dedicated to ensuring Concordia lives way into the future for others so that they can have the experience, education and history that all of us share. The family of Concordia is truly amazing. I would encourage all of you, when that mailer arrives or the phone call is received, to make a contribution. Remember: it’s not the size that matters; it’s the fact that our alumni support and believe in the mission of the college enough to make a contribution. So, thank you to those of you who contributed and for those who opted not to, please consider Concordia this year.

So, where does this leave us? Well, check your calendar and see if you are able to join us for Homecoming weekend – it would be wonderful to see you and share memories, laughs and updates. Thank you for your dedication to Concordia and for sharing your gifts, talents and time – everything you give is greatly appreciated. And finally, keep Concordia in your thoughts – consider a gift, any size, to help the college continue to grow and more importantly to show your support of the institution.

Stay in touch and stay safe – until we see each other again,

Kristine Freije Olson
