CLASS CHALLENGE FUND UPDATE – Congratulations to the Class of 1985 for increasing our participation! We unfortunately lost the Decade Award participation by 0.1%, but we increased our number of participants by 1%.
Our class challenge totals for the fiscal year ending April 2005 are as follows:
- Number of participants – 178
- Potential participants – 493
- Percent participation – 36.1%
- Total monies raised - $19,415.50
How does this compare to other alumni? The class of 1954 had the best participation at 68.3%, with 134 of 196 participants. The class of 1964 raised the big bucks with $1,599,402.32. The class of 1983 had the highest number of participants with 194.
I again applaud your efforts to support the ever growing Concordia mission. I would again encourage each of you to participate at whatever level that you are able. The amount is not important; but that we continue to show support.

CLOSING
I wanted to close this class letter by inviting you to participate in the 2005 Homecoming. As all are aware, this will be our 20 year reunion. The schedule is full and allows all to participate in as little or as much as they desire. In addition, I invite you to submit a class note so we can keep others up to date on your progress. Again, I encourage you to donate to Concordia as it is not always the amount but the fact that you participated that counts. Lastly, we are all getting to that age where we come in contact with high school students looking for a new home and Concordia could be that educational start to jump start their career.
Best to all of you and do not hesitate to contact me regarding the reunion weekend (sengum@sbcglobal.net). In addition, please send via email any pictures you have from the past and present and we will include them in the breakfast slide show.
Peace always,
Scott Engum
