June 2004

Dear Classmates of 1974,

Greetings to all you Cobbers out there.   This letter is a little late because we have been busy with our daughter's wedding at the end of May.   It brought back many memories of being on campus as Kelli and Mike (they met at Concordia) had their outdoor pictures taken by Old Main and the Bell Tower.   Since they are both alumni from the college they wanted to have these memories from where they met.   Kelli also had her five college roommates in their wedding party.   I know these young people will continue to keep in touch and remain friends throughout their lives just as many of you have with your classmates.

Yes it is our big year!!   30 years WOW!!    We hope you are planning to attend the big 30 th year reunion for our class of 1974.   We hope for a great turnout. At Kelli's wedding we got to see many old friends from our Cobber days.   I think it is even more important to maintain those friendships as we transition to the next phase of life.

Our son Jon is also getting married later this year to another former Cobber.   In fact, she was the trainer for the hockey team (Jon played for the Cobbers).    Now we hope our children continue to tell the story of Concordia as they go out into the world and touch lives with the gifts that they have been blessed with.

Speaking of gifts, thank you for all who donated financially to Concordia.   Our class had 131 participants give $23,758 this past year which is wonderful.   The amount given was 4 th out all the classes in the 70's and 80's but the participation was only at 27.1% (131 out of 482 classmates). If we could get that over 30%, we would really be accomplishing something. I encourage all of you to remember Concordia as you plan out your charitable giving for the year.   Remember - every gift counts!
