June 2003

Dear Class of '73,
Hello Cobbers! We are ready to have our 30th anniversary celebration at Concordia’s Homecoming, October 3-5, 2003. I can’t believe it – how about you? Well, we can get together and celebrate with each other. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Ramada Inn in Fargo, Saturday morning breakfast is scheduled and we are waiting to see if there is enough interest to have a gathering spot for Saturday evening. Let me know if you have thoughts or ideas (see addresses below).

CLASS FUND CHALLENGE
Thanks to the 119 of our class who gave $19,360.29 to place us 5th in our decade for dollars given. With a class of 477, we are 10th in our decade for participation level of 24.9 percent. So, if I did the math correctly, if 47 more people gave, we could go from worst to first in our decade – I think that could happen! Thanks for your loyalty to the college and your gifts to support the college.

C-400 Project 16 was successfully completed April 30, 2003. Beginning May 1, 2003, C-400 is an annual gift of $400 or more, given during the fiscal year (May 1 – April 30) instead of pledges over a period of years. A letter and brochure with a full explanation of the changes will be mailed to you later this summer. If you have questions, please call the Annual Giving Office at 299-3454 or 800-699-9020.

IN MEMORIAM
Sadly, I share with you the death of our classmate, Mike McLeod. Mike died March 7 of pancreatic cancer. Mike’s spouse (Roberta) preceded him in death and is survived by his mom, one son, four daughters, three grandchildren, and five siblings. His nickname was Mad Dog from the football field but his colleagues knew he was a teddy bear at heart. Mike will be missed. Blessed be his memory.

CLASS NOTES
