July 2006
Dear Classmates of 1971,
You are invited to join me and return to Concordia College for Homecoming, October 13-15, 2006. Earlier this year I sent a letter to you that outlined opportunities for gathering together, and here is a reminder for you.
Events during the weekend include:
I have reserved a block of 20 rooms at the Days Inn & Conference Center, 600 30th Ave. S., Moorhead, (218) 287-7100. The price ranges from $99.00 (+ tax) per night for a “business king” to $119.95 (+tax) for a “poolside” room, and reservations need to be made before September 13, 2006.
Since this weekend is also the Homecoming date for NDSU, I urge you to make a reservation as soon as you can. If you decide to stay at the Days Inn, please refer to the block of rooms reserved for “Concordia College Class of 1971.”
We have opportunities to provide updated information for Concordia magazine for our “class notes” section by going to our class web site now online at www.ConcordiaCollege.edu/alumni. You will find the site in the Reunion Class Pages section under “Alumni Links.” The site will include information regarding plans for the reunion, as well as information about the annual class challenge coordinated through the Development Office. If you have photos or memories that you would like to submit for the web site, please send them to the Alumni Office and identify them as being for the Class of 1971 web site.
I’d like to ask you to support Concordia’s commitment to Christian education by giving a class gift – the class of 1971 will be acknowledged for its generosity at this important time in our world.
You may have heard about the loss of several key Concordia College people in the past two years – I would like to mention them by name and ask you to think about what they meant to you – we’ll talk about them at our Homecoming breakfast:
I hope I can see you at the reunion and Homecoming. You should also know that Ernie Mancini is retiring at the end of this year and we’ll look forward to acknowledging him in our time together.
In addition to what I’ve already written, consider recommending a student to Concordia College. The Admissions staff has followed up on several recommendations that I have made and it makes such a difference when a high school student gets a handwritten note from a Concordia College student!
Let me know if there is anything that I can do to support your decision to come home to Concordia – remember, it’s our 35th reunion!
Best wishes
