Concordia Theatre Kicks Off the 2012-13 Season
Concordia College Theatre is preparing to open 44 Plays for 44 Presidents by Andy Bayiates, Sean Benjamin, Genevra Gallo-Bayiates, Chloe Johnston, and Karen Weinberg.
Concordia College is one of 44 schools, companies, and theatres to produce this play as part of the nation-wide “Plays for Presidents Festival 2012.” As part of the festival, each production will submit one presidential scene to be compiled into an online composite video production. Concordia’s contribution to the video will be on William Henry Harrison, the 9th president of the United States.
Directed by David Wintersteen, 44 Plays for 44 Presidents will perform on the Mainstage of the Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre on October 4, 5, and 6 at 8:00pm and October 7th at 2:00pm.
This play is a delight for both politics-lovers and those not-so-involved in the political world. Comprised of short, biographical scenes, 44 Plays highlights the lives of the American presidents the White House has seen thus far. Mistakes and successes are celebrated as the play takes us from the beginning of our nation all the way to present day.
For tickets, you may stop by the Box Office located in the Francis Frazier Comstock Theatre from 1-5pm or stop by our table in Anderson Commons from 9:30am-1pm starting Monday, October 1st. You may also email the Box Office at thrtix@cord.edu. Tickets are free for all Concordia faculty, staff, and students.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in the theatre!
