Tuning-In to the Golden Age of Radio
F/M Communiversity is offering "Tuning-In to the Golden Age of Radio" on Saturday, October 27 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. "Tuning-In" will trace the history of radio, locally and nationally, from the 1920s throught he late 1950s. Audio examples of early radio programs, including drama, comedy and historical events, will be shared as well as photographs, facts and fascinating anecdotes of radio's golden age. The course is offered by Larry Gauper. Gauper worked in radio since 1958 when his first job was as an announcer on a Valley City, North Dakota radio station when he was 15. He worked at KSTP radio and television throughout his college years in Minneapolis and started his career at WDAY radio and television in Fargo. For 26 years, he was the vice president of Corporate Communications at Blue Cross-Blue Shield of ND.
The class fee is $12; Concordia staff pay $6.
