Building Community

People quickly feel at home at Concordia. Students make friends for life while contributing to an intellectually and spiritually vibrant campus community. They learn to serve and lead as actively engaged members of a larger community.

The college needs inviting residences for students to keep them closely connected to campus life, and a central place where students, faculty and staff can interact. At a place like Concordia - whose name means “hearts together” or “hearts in harmony” - a gathering space in the heart of campus for creative programming and community building is essential to serving our mission.

The two key components of the "Building Community" initiative are:

1. Gathering ($30 million)

- construct the Campus Center

2. Serving and Leading ($3.5 million)

- fund service-learning activities
- establish a Center for Responsible Citizenship
