TEACH Grant Information

Concordia College intends to participate in the federal TEACH Grant Program.  At this point the Federal government has not released the final set of regulations for the program.  We expect these regulations to be available at some point during summer 2008.

As soon as we have the final regulations Concordia will determine when to begin our participation in the program.   We will also notify students who have expressed an interest. Learn more about financial aid.

Please consider the following points when determining your eligibility for the TEACH Grant:

٠    Remember that elementary education majors are not likely to be eligible.
٠    If you are awarded the TEACH Grant you must do BOTH of the following:
٠    Teach a high need subject (like math or science) AND
٠    Teach this subject for four years in a school that serves Title I students (low income students)
٠    This four year teaching obligation must be fulfilled within 8 years of graduation.
٠    If you don’t do ALL of the above, the Grant converts to a LOAN with interest retroactive to the date the “Grant” was disbursed.
٠    Keep in mind that the attached information is preliminary – Congress may change the rules in the final regulations to be distributed this summer.

Please read the attached TEACH Fact Sheet published by the U.S. Department of Education which outlines these and many other requirements.
