Student Life
Recreation & Athletics
Whether you’re the star quarterback on the football team or an enthusiastic ultimate Frisbee player, you’re at the right place. At Concordia, we believe it’s important for all students to be physically active – and have a great time doing so. Try out for the soccer or volleyball team, join an intramural basketball team or meet up with friends for a run at Olson Forum’s indoor track. You’ll find it all right here!Cobber Athletics
Concordia fields 22 men’s and women’s NCAA Division III teams, many of which are perennial conference championship contenders. With a 98 percent graduation rate among our athletes, a reputation for academic quality, several “coaches of the year” and outstanding facilities, Concordia is a home for student-athletes who want to fulfill their athletic goals while earning a degree that will open doors for a lifetime. Our experienced and highly successful coaches are dedicated to developing you as a whole person and as an athlete.
And it sure doesn’t hurt that Cobber sports games are a whole lot of fun! There’s nothing quite like the annual Power Bowl football game against rival Minnesota State University Moorhead to stir up the crowd, bring out Cobber Nation and fill the stadium with Cobber spirit.
Intramural and Club Sports
All of our students – and even faculty and staff – are welcome to join our popular intramurals, featuring 11 sports as varied as ultimate Frisbee and sand volleyball to basketball and flag football. Join a team, play your heart out and you may even win one of the coveted winner’s T-shirts handed out to each year’s top teams.
Students can also join one of 11 club sports teams, including the cheer team, dance team, Nordic ski club, yoga club and two rugby teams. Have a great time in a sport you love, while getting plenty of exercise and making new friends.
