Meal Plans

Where do I eat?
Concordia students dine together in the award-winning Anderson Commons residential dining facility. Students who live in the residence halls choose from available meal plan options. Students living off campus are also welcome to participate in the meal plan program. Your meal plan offers a combination of traditional meal plan passes and flexible Dining Dollars to be used at your discretion. You need to present your Concordia ID card for entrance into Anderson Commons or for Dining Dollars purchases. Dining Dollars may be used to purchase additional meals or meals for guests. They may also be used at The Maize short-order café, the Korn Krib convenience store or at select vending machines on campus.

How can I use my meal plan when sick?
If you cannot come to the dining center due to illness or injury, your RA will fill out an authorization slip and arrange for someone to bring a special food tray to your room.

What options are there for students who have food allergies or other health concerns regarding diet and nutrition?
Students who have a meal plan can meet with one of four registered dietitians on staff and discuss any food and nutrition related concerns they may have. Anderson Commons offers several vegetarian options daily and utilizes Mission Nutrition, a labeling system that easily represents the levels of fat, calories, sodium and fiber in each served item. All nutritional and ingredient information is available online at http://netnutrition.cord.edu and in binders throughout Anderson Commons.

What happens if I want to change my meal plan?

Meal plan change forms are available in the Dining Services office. You have until the final class drop day to change your meal plan selection. You can change their meal plans anytime during the year if you want to increase your weekly number of meals.

What if I don't eat all of my meals?

It is expected that each student will not eat all meals. This is the case at almost all colleges. The “missed meal factor” is calculated when pricing the meal plans. For example, most students on a 14 meal plan eat 11 meals. The meal plan would be more expensive if it was priced for all 14 meals. This is another reason why Dining Dollars are added to each meal plan. If Anderson closes before you have a chance to eat dinner, you can still eat in The Maize for no additional cost with Dining Dollars.
