Name: Jade Olstad
Class: 2013
Major: Biology
College Activities: I am currently involved in Dance Marathon, a student organization that helps raise money for little children with medical needs. I also am a part of Tri-Beta, a honors Biology club. I also volunteer my time into Chem Club and help do science academy for little children at all the elementary school in the Fargo-Moorhead area. I just recently joined Sigma Zeta also so that should be a lot of fun as well. I like to play intramural basketball also on the weekdays, which provides a good time for myself.
Hobbies/ Interests: I like to hang with friends all the time. I like to go golfing a lot in the summer as well as work and make some money. I am very interested into sports as sports has been my life up until college. I like helping out with little kids activities during the summer because some of those kids can put a smile on your face no matter what kind of day your having.
Favorite thing about Concordia: I love the friendly atmosphere here. I got to know so many people here and can talk with basically anyone because I have such good connections here at Concordia. It is a great student community and one that I am proud to be apart of.
Advice to new students: College is going to be an experience that is totally different than any you have experienced before. Being away from home, not having mom's homecooked meals, nor sleeping in your own bed is going to be a different, but exciting road that we all have had to take going to college. When you get to college, be social and meet new friends because that will make it that much more enjoyable here at Concordia. Do not be shy. Go out of your comfort zone and do the best you can.
