Request Student Activity Fee Funding
The Student Activity Fee is required money that you, as students, pay each year. This fee provides funding for the student benefits, programming, and activities on campus. The student activity fee is distributed as follows:
1. Auto Disbursements - These are automatically subtracted from the Student Activity Fee at the beginning of the academic year and include funding for:
- The Concordian
- Newspaper Readership Program (The Forum, Star Tribune, and USA Today)
- Residence Hall Programming
- MAT Bus and Doyle Cab Program
- LeadNow
- Olson Forum Fitness Facility
- Sustainability Fund
- Undergraduate Research
2. Major Programs - The next funds taken from the Student Activity Fee are for major programs on campus. These programs submit a budget to the Student Involvement Council (SIC) and the Student Affairs Committee (administration and students), in March of the year prior. Funds are taken from the student activity fee based on the budgets that are approved. Major programs include:
- Campus Entertainment Commission
- Campus Ministry Commission
- Campus Service Commission
- Homecoming
- Orientation
- Student Government Association
3. Additional Student Organization Requests - The remaining student activity fee is available for use by Concordia student organizations in good standing. The Student Involvement Council (SIC) has the job of responsibly and fairly allocating these funds based on individual organization requests. Organizations desiring a portion of these funds must submit a budget request online. The SIC allocates money to organizations based on a number of pre-set funding guidelines. These allocations occur approximately once each month throughout the academic year. Please see budget submission deadlines for exact dates.
