For High School Students

You don’t have to wait until you’re a Concordia student to take part in our top-notch forensics program. We host several competitions and camps each year on our campus, all designed to make you a better forensics competitor – and get a feel for what our own students are doing in the field.

The Concordia Debate Institute, featuring three specialized programs, welcomes about 100 students to campus each July and August. The Three-Week Institute, Kritik Institute and Fast-Track Institute give you a solid foundation in debating skills through one-on-one attention, plenty of time to practice and intense teaching sessions. You’ll leave here ready to compete – and ready to come back for more the next summer!

The Concordia Speech Institute is a weeklong camp for speech students, like you, who are looking for somewhere to hone their skills over the summer. Get your senior year of high school or freshmen year of college off to a great start with packed week of training at Concordia.

The W.E. Lillo Debate Tournament, held annually in November, brings high school debaters from across the country together for two exciting days of competition. Two scholarships to Concordia are also awarded during this event.

Concordia first held the W.E Lillo high school debate team in 1945. Nineteen teams from eleven high schools participated.
